Hi everyone!! Happy New Year and welcome to my new blog! As some of you may know, I've done my hair (yes, again). Many of my friends and family have asked me a bunch of questions about my hair, like which dye I used and whether my hair is extremely damaged. So today, I've decided to tell you guys the entire history of my hair. Continue reading on if you want to find out more about what I did to my hair:-)
For the past year, I've had red/brown hair. Since I was 14, I've been wanting to dye my hair purple (If you don't believe you can ask my friend Jingyi. We got purple extensions together that year). When I was 15, during the end of year holidays, I dyed my hair maroon at Snip Avenue. It faded off pretty quickly and the colour wasn't obvious so I bought a box of hair dye (Loreal Paris Excellence) and dyed my hair at home. That was when it became much more obvious and I liked my hair then. Ever since, I have had my hair pretty much reddish brown until now (I had to dye back to black when school reopened but it faded off to reddish brown).
My plan was to bleach my hair and go blonde for a few weeks/months and then dye all my hair purple. After a few months, when the colour fades off, then I would dye all my hair dark blue. Unfortunately, that did not go as planned.
After O levels, I decided to not do anything about my hair at first, as I was still tired from all the examinations and traveling. It was only after my vacation at Australia, I decided to (finally) bleach my hair. However, the first try was pretty much a failure. Since I am such a terrible hairdresser, I bleached only some parts of my hair and most of the parts were not that light. So I decided to go and bleach my hair once more. At this point, everyone thought that my hair had died but that wasn't the case.
After the second time I bleached my hair, I loved the outcome of my blonde hair. It wasn't the blonde that I wanted (the shade I wanted is super light) but it did look good on me and I received a ton of compliments from family and friends. Although, thanks to my itchy fingers, I went to buy 3 tubs of La Riche dye: Violet, Midnight Blue and White Toner. My plan was to use white toner to get rid of the yellow tones and then dye my hair Violet, and keep Midnight Blue for next time. Sadly, the purple did not really show up on my hair and I ended up hating my hair. It looked more of maroon, which was back to square one.
Everyone thought it was nice, but I didn't want that hair colour so I bleached my hair for the third time. Yes, you're probably thinking: wtf Marie you're insane. And if you're seriously wondering, well all the people around me seem to think that way. ANYWAYS, during the process of bleaching my hair, my hair began to turn neon green. Which freaked me out. I think it'll freak anyone out right. I thought that if I waited longer, the green will become lighter but NOOOOOOOOOOOO. It did not. So i hastily and impulsively slapped on more bleach (I had to dig up as much bleach as I could from the bottle bc there was very little left) and thankfully after a while the green became lighter and less neon.
Initially I thought this new hair of mine (greenish-golden-blondish) was actually quite ok (eventually I started to like it a little) and I had high hopes of having the colour fade after a few washes but I've had too many dirty looks from people around me with that hair. So with that, I decided that I really had to do something about it. I decided that I had no choice but to use my Midnight Blue dye. Which was a heartbreak for me because I was hoping to keep it until next year (or rather this year??).
Yesterday, I wanted to do some highlights with the blue hair dye (and some leftover purple dye) so that I can still have at least some dye left for the future. I wanted my hair to be kind of a blueish-purple fade off to blonde kind of thing?? I'm not sure how to explain but I hope you guys get the picture. After washing off the dye and drying my hair, I realised that my hair didn't really look like blue. It looked more of turquoise.

Since I wanted my hair to be dark blue not turquoise, I added more Midnight Blue dye to my hair and voila! My current hair colour is born.
So that's basically the story of my hair. If you guys have any dying (haha see what I did there) questions you want me to answer, I'd be happy to help at askfm!
Thank you all so much for this lengthy (and probably boring) post. Once again, happy new year!! I'll see you lovelies in my next post. Til then, stay safe and keep dreaming ∞
